Better Mental Wellness for Migrant Youth – Better mental wellness for migrant youth

2021-2022

The “Better Mental Wellness for Migrant Youth” project offered young people from six European countries (Spain, Serbia, North Macedonia, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Germany) the opportunity to engage intensively with the topic of mental health and expand their skills in this area. The project was organized and coordinated by Jama Nyeta e.V.

As part of the program, yoga and mental health activities were offered by two qualified teachers.

were conducted. These helped the participants to develop initial strategies to deal with psychological stress and improve their well-being.

Another important part of the project was the collaboration with a doctor specializing in psychiatry. His expertise enabled participants to talk about their experiences with mental health in a safe environment and receive valuable information on diagnosis and treatment.

In addition to the academic content, there was also plenty of community spirit: over the course of two days, we explored the city of Cologne, visited historical sights and conducted a tour of the University of Cologne campus to introduce the participants to the possibilities of studying abroad.

The project was rounded off with three intercultural evenings, during which the participants presented the cultures of their home countries through typical dishes and customs. This exchange fostered friendships and laid the foundations for long-term cooperation.
