Play together. Win together.

The “Unity Cup” is a project that brings people with and without an international family history together and creates spaces for real encounters. At its heart is the conviction that social cohesion is created where people meet, exchange ideas and become active together, regardless of their origin, language or reality of life.

The combination of sport, culture and educational opportunities creates low-threshold access that enables everyone to participate and get involved. Sport serves as a connecting element that breaks down barriers and enables encounters at eye level. This is complemented by creative and interactive formats that make diversity visible, open up perspectives and invite people to join in.

The project aims not only to implement individual events, but also to strengthen local networks in the long term, promote commitment and make inclusion an everyday experience. The focus is on exchange, mutual learning and joint action.

At the same time, the event supports educational and sports projects in West Africa and aims to establish itself as an annual format in Cologne as well as in West Africa in the future.

This year, the “Unity Cup” will take place in Cologne as a small-sided soccer tournament with an accompanying family and hands-on program.

The 1st Unity Cup will take place on 13.06.2026 in Cologne-Bocklemünd.
