Sini Nyesigi: Raising awareness about the environment and sustainability

2020

The “Sini Nyesigi” project was able to give people with a history of flight and migration an insight into sustainable development issues in the environmental, economic and social fields.

The aim of the project was to raise participants’ awareness of environmental issues and the importance of sustainable development. The causes and effects of climate change were explained on the basis of global contexts, and strategies for a more conscious lifestyle were communicated.

A workshop on the production of natural cosmetics as well as excursions to an ecological farm and an apiary were able to consolidate the theoretically imparted knowledge through tangible practice. Since Bambara or French was the first language of the majority of the participants, we conducted the offer multilingually.
